The health check-up entails just one visit. The time needed for a health check-up is approximately one hour, and the check-up comprises the following:
BLOOD TESTS
Haemoglobin/Blood Count
Low values indicate for example iron-, folic acid or vitamin B12 deficiency. Low values are also indicated in connection with increased loss
of blood, as when bleeding from the gastrointestinal tract.
Glucose/Blood Sugar
High values are indicated in cases of diabetes (old age diabetes).
Cholesterol/Blood Lipids
Elevated values increase the risk for cardiovascular disease. Normally seen in connection with improper eating habits or hereditary predisposition.
Creatinine/Renal Function
High values in connection with failing renal function.
CRP/Infection Test
High value in connection with bacterial infection, joint inflammation, muscle inflammation or enteritis.
GT/Liver Test
Elevated values at for example over-consumption of alcohol or medical drug influences.
PSA/Prostate Test
High values in connection with non-dangerous prostate enlargement, prostate inflammation (prostatit) or prostate cancer.
URINE EXAMINATION
Testing for bacteria, proteins and sugar in the urine to detect any prevalence of urinary tract infection, diabetes, renal impairement, etc.
BLOOD PRESSURE EXAMINATION
A too high blood pressure is one of the most critical risk factors for the emergence of cardiovascular diseases.
LUNG FUNCTION TEST
So called dynamic spirometry is used to check the lung function. A reduced functionality is commonly observed in connection with for example smoking, asthma and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD)
ECG
Records the electric activities of the heart. May indicate irregular heart rate, myocarditis, cardiac infarct, etc.
FECAL HAEMOGLOBIN
Records blood in the stool. Superficial haemorrhoids and rupturing by the rectum opening are the most common causes. Also observed at an early stage in connection with colon cancer.
OTHER EXAMINATIONS
Eyesight, body length and weight are checked. BMI (Body Mass Index) is calculated.
COMPLETE MEDICAL EXAMINATION
This is a close examination of e.g. oral cavity, ears, thyroid gland, heart,
lungs, abdomen, chest, back, joints, reflexes and lymph glands. Also examination of the skin with regard to any potential skin alterations (malignant melanoma).
HEALTH LOG
Finally you and the doctor discuss all results together. In case of any deviations follow-up is planned. In connection with the medical check-up you also receive advice on how you can influence your health in a positive direction. Your results are summarised in a health log that you will be given a copy of. During the visit you may also, of course, raise other medical issues. Prescriptions when and if required.
The cost for a health check-up is € 180.00
